Winter is coming! But let’s not worry about that quite yet. For now, let’s figure out what we’re going to do about the season we’re in. If you’ve got trees on your property, you know what comes with them – a yard full of leaves. Is there anything you can do to avoid raking them yourself, outside of hiring someone else to do it for you?

Yes! First, you might be able to just ignore them. Of course, extensive leaf cover can be very damaging to your lawn, but if you have very few trees on your property, you may not have anything to worry about. Alternatively, you could consider mulching the leaves. Mulching basically involves chopping the leaves up into very tiny pieces. This can be done with most mowers, though some are specially equipped to handle this task. If you can get the pieces small enough and spread out enough, mulching may actually turn out to be beneficial for your lawn.
