Last month, we talked about how to fight the growth of mold in your home. This month, we’d like to focus your attention on a specific room in your house that is highly prone to mold growth – the bathroom. What could be contributing to mold growth in your bathroom, and what can you do to prevent it?
As you’re aware, bathrooms are constantly filled with moisture. Steam from a long, hot shower can stay in the air for hours. Your toilet has a constant reservoir of standing water. You likely have damp towels or laundry sitting in your bathroom for days at a time. This moisture can be a breeding ground for mold. To help prevent that, do what you can to remove sources of moisture. Use an exhaust fan and/or window to air out the bathroom during and after showers. Remove wet fabrics as soon as possible. Simple steps like these can help you limit mold growth in your bathroom.
